Obituary for Anastasia Nowyckyj
Anastasia (Mykytyszyn) Nowyckyj, 84, of Lebanon, widow of William Nowyckyj, passed away November 18, 2009 in Windham Hospital.
She was born March 25, 1925 in Czowhany, Ukraine and moved to the United States in 1949. She was employed at the American Thread Co. for 35 years, retiring in 1987. Anastasia was a member of St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church in Willimantic.
She is survived by two sons, Bohdan of Chaplin and William Jr. of Lebanon. She also leaves two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Her family extends their sincere thanks to the staff of the Windham Hospital Emergency Room for their care and kindness. We are also grateful to the staff of the Windham Medical Group, especially Elizabeth Visone for the excellent care and treatment given to our mother. Finally, a very special thank you to Nurse’s Aide, Kristyn Dudek who spent the last several weeks caring for our mother and brought much joy and happiness into her life.
Her family will receive friends Monday, 11/23/09, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Panakhyda Service at 7 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. A Panakhyda Service will also be held Tuesday, 11/24/09, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a procession to St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church on Oak St. for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham, CT.
