Obituary for Anna (Filteau) Valliere
Anna (Filteau) Valliere, 90, of Windham, formerly of Willimantic, widow of Real Valliere, died November 6, 2009 in St. Joseph Living Center.
She was born October 25, 1919 in Wauregan, CT the daughter of Louis and Clothilde (Veer) Filteau.
She was employed as a Maintenance Supervisor by the University of Connecticut for 30 years, retiring 25 years ago. Anna was a communicant of St. Mary Church and member of St. Mary’s Ladies Guild.
Her survivors include a niece, Theresa Prairie of New Britain, CT; three nephews: Emile Heroux of Eastford, CT, Robert Filteau of Killingly, CT and Alexander Filteau of Moosup, CT. She also leaves three step-nephews: George Hovey of Willimantic, CT, David Bettencourt of Killingly, CT and Peter Bettencourt of Danielson, CT; also two grandnephews: Ronald Prairie of Vernon, CT and Michael Prairie of Southington, CT.
Her family will receive relatives and friends Sunday, 11/8/09, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Monday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Mary Church on Valley St. Willimantic for the celebration of her Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Mary Church, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226 or St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280 where she received exceptional care for which the family is very grateful.
