Annette Louise (Tanguay) Postler

Annette L. Postler 73, of Scotland Ct., beloved wife of 54 years to Benjamin Postler Jr. passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning. Annette was a lifetime resident of Scotland, Ct and was involved in various civic duties in the town of Scotland, most recently, serving as the Treasurer of Scotland Democratic Town Committee and registrar of voters.

Annette retired from the University of Connecticut in 2002 and continued her an avid Husky fan. Her home was always opened to everyone and anyone. While her great cooking kept everyone full and anxious for more.

She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Postler Jr., her daughters , Cheryl Postler of Palm Coast, Florida, Lori Shaw of Windham, Ct. and Darlene Ritchie of Canterbury, Ct.. Six Grandchildren, David, Daniel and Chelsea Merchant, Jessica Shaw, Jaime and Mitchell Ritchie. She also leaves behind five sisters, Cecile Sutcliffe of Lisbon, Ct, Jean Bigelow of Willimantic, Ct, Arlene Harakaly of Willimantic, Ct, Diane Yergan of Willimantic and Nancy Trudeau of Willimantic, Ct. She was predeceased by her parents, Ernst and Louise Tanguay of Scotland, Ct. A brother Ernst (Butch) Tanguay, sister Madeline Kiese of Willimantic, Ct.

Annette also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and loved ones who will miss her dearly.

Calling hours are Tuesday, December 17, 2013, 6p – 8p at Bacon Funeral Home, at 71 Prospect Street, Willimantic. A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Joseph Church on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11am with a burial following at St. Joseph Cemetery, reception to be held immediately following burial.
