Obituary for Antonio (Tony) Carbone
Antonio “Tony” Carbone, 83, of Mansfield, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, peacefully passed away into God’s grace on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Antonio was born on February 25, 1932 in Reggio di Calabria, Italy, the fifth son of the late Rocco and Maria Angela (Calabro) Carbone. He married his wife of fifty-two years, Rita Fiasconaro, on February 23, 1963. Prior to immigrating to the United States, he worked as a farmer and served in the Italian Air Force for one year. In the USA, he worked at American Thread for over ten years, at Kendall Company in Windham, CT for ten years, at Brand-Rex for ten years and at Sheldon Farms for two years. He was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic. His survivors include a sister, Maria Eufemia Fiasconaro and her husband Mario of North Windham, CT. He also leaves three daughters: Angelina Boutot of Manchester, CT, Iva & her husband John Littlefield of Mansfield, CT, and Giulietta & her husband Joe Bauer of Willington, CT. He leaves six grandchildren: Belinda, David (& fiancee Maeghan), Dylan, Justin, Scott and Brook; one great-granddaughter, Isabella; 15 nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers: Antonino, Dominico, Giuseppe, Vincenzo and Rocco Carbone Jr. His family will receive family and friends at Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic, CT on Friday, 12/11/15, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Club Road in Windham, CT.
