Obituary for Armand J. Audet, Sr.
Armand J. Audet, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, in Windham Hospital on October 14, 2012. He was the beloved husband of Priscilla Audet for 61 years. Priscilla was the love of his life. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, cook and tag sale enthusiast. Armand loved to refurbish antique furniture. He and Priscilla owned Hi-Acres in Columbia for 10 years. He proudly served with the Army in Korea during the Korean War where he was quickly promoted from private to staff sergeant of the mess hall. Besides his wife Priscilla, he is survived by five children: Elaine Martin of Brooklyn, Lena and William Hill of Texas, Donna Audet and Benny Alvarado of Willimantic, Armand and Shirley Audet, Jr. and Tina Audet and Robert Naumec of all of Willimantic. He also has six grandchildren: Matt Woodard of Manchester, Michelle Rhymer of Manchester, Tina Hendrickson and Erin Choats of Texas and Armand J. Audet, III and Katherine Audet of Columbia. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren. Also surviving Armand are his siblings: Lionel Audet, Richard Audet, Doris Comisky, and sister-in-law, Yvette Audet. He was predeceased be his brothers, Lucien, Bertrand, Fernand and Robert and sisters, Irene Beauchesne and Carmen Dixon all of Maine. The family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, 10/17/12, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT followed by a procession to St. Mary Church, Valley St. Willimantic for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
