Obituary for Attilio Morizio
Attilio Morizio departed this life on Tuesday, June 7th, 2016. He was a family man with a big heart and a strong work ethic. Attilio was born on February 29, 1928 in St. Tomasso, Italy. He served in the Italian army as a medic and in 1951 immigrated to Montreal, Canada. Once settled in Montreal, he sent for his wife Filomena Morizio to join him and they lived in Canada for eight years, where they had their first child Maria T. Morizio. Attilio and his family moved to Willimantic, CT in 1960 where he was employed by Brand Rex and retired in April 1993. An avid gardener, wine maker and traveler, Attilio enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends.

Attilio is pre-deceased by his daughter Maria T. Morizio Flaherty, his parents Carmine and Filomena Morizio, his two brothers Raphael and Alfredo Morizio, his two sisters Elizabeth Astrologo and Annina Faba. He is survived by his wife of 63 years Filomena Morizio, his two sons Tony D. and Robert C. Morizio, his son-in-law Thomas P. Flaherty and daughter-in-law Debbie Morizio, and his grandchildren; Thomas J. Flaherty and wife Jessica Flaherty, Alexandra N. Flaherty, Carmine A. and Robert F. Morizio and Jordan Anthony and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed dearly by friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Attilio’s name to St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St., Willimantic, CT 06226. Attilio’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, June 12, 2016 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Bacon Funeral home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic, CT 06226. His Funeral Mass will be at 10:00am on Monday, June 13, 2016 at St. Mary Church, 46 Valley St., Willimantic, CT 06226 and the burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
