Obituary for Camilla Mary Chmura

Camilla Chmura, 92, passed from this life on May 6.  Born December 7, 1923, to Mary and Bronislaw Krzyzewski, she was a lifelong resident of Willimantic graduating from Windham High School in 1941.  Camilla was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and gardening.  She loved celebrating her Polish heritage.  For the “Polish Immigrants Exhibit” she provided an oral history of growing up Polish in Willimantic and contributed Pulaski American Citizens Club memorabilia to the Windham Textile and History Museum.  She was a communicant of ST Joseph Church and an active member of St Joseph Woman’s Club. 
Camilla was pre-deceased by her husband of 55 years, Frederick. She will be missed and remembered fondly by her son Frederick M and wife Randé, of Woodstock, daughter Cynthia and husband Stephen Curry, of Ashford, granddaughter, Jennifer, many nieces and nephews and close friends.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers and staff at St Joseph Living Center for the compassion, love and care shown. Her family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, 5/10/16, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic for the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
