Obituary for Carl M. Hassler
Carl Martin Hassler, 61, of Windham passed unexpectedly on Friday, October
9, 2020. He was born on January 9, 1959 in Providence, Rhode Island, the son
of the late Gustave and Estelle Hassler.
Carl proudly served the Windham Center Fire Department for many years as a
Volunteer Firefighter. He also worked for Miller Brothers of South Windham,
CT early in his driving career helping families and businesses move all over
the state. He went on to work at Post Road Stages in South Windsor, CT with
his father where they both spent over a decade driving motorcoach charters
and public tours for exciting trips throughout New England. He enjoyed being
on the open road traveling and being with large tour groups.
Carl also loved quiet Sunday afternoons taking it easy, watching Nascar,
enjoying his family around his father's kitchen table, and reminiscing about
the old days growing up with his 11 brothers and sisters. Carl loved being
an uncle and you could always find him holding one of his 40+ nieces and
nephews at family gatherings. His passion for the holidays couldn't be beat
by anyone. He loved everything and anything Christmas and delighted both
family and friends by dressing up like Santa.
Carl is the beloved brother of Audrey and Jack Babbitt of Windham Center,
Donna and Daniel Elliott of New York, Denise and James Almon of West
Hartford, Mark Hassler of Vermont, Mark and Lois Patros of Columbia, Eric
and Kathryn Hassler of Lebanon, David and Kelly Hassler of Lebanon, Donald
and Sara Hassler of Willimantic, James and Mary K Hassler of Tolland, Thomas
and Toni Hassler of West Granby, and Mary-Louise and Reese Lacasse of
Mansfield.

and Adam Kravet, Adam Babbitt and Keith Sheppard, Daniel and Estefania
