Obituary for Cecil M. Killourey
Cecil M. Killourey, of Willimantic, died Saturday, 3/25/06, in St. Joseph Living Center in Windham. She was born July 27, 1913 in Willimantic the daughter of John J. and Eva (Dubreuil) Killourey. She attended local schools, graduating from Windham High School. She was employed by the State of Connecticut for 28 years, serving as Secretary for Child Welfare Services, the Dept. of Public Works in Hartford, the University of Connecticut Division of Student Personnel and as Administrative Assistant in charge of Medical Records Dept. at the Mansfield Training School and Hospital from where she retired in 1964. She was later employed by the Town of Scotland as Secretary to the Elementary School Principal and as a clerk for the Board of Education, retiring from this position in 1968. She was active in local public service, serving three and a half years on the Board of Finance, two years as President of the Willimantic City Council and five years as a Commissioner on the Windham Community Redevelopment Agency, where she was chairman for two years. She was a member of the Willimantic Irish Club, CT State Employees Association, Chapter 408, the A.A.R.P., and a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. She leaves a niece, Nancy P. Anthony and her husband, Richard of Willimantic, a nephew, John T. Pickett and his wife, Denise of Inglewood, FL, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by a sister, Helen K. Pickett. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 3/28/06, at 11 am in St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. Calling hours are TODAY, from 6 to 8 pm and again Tuesday, from 10:00 to 10:30 am at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, 06226. Please visit www.baconfh.com to register your condolence.
