Obituary for David D. Boker
David D. Boker passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Windham Hospital. David was born April 13, 1959 in New Britain, CT the son of Donald and Marilyn (Balcome) Boker. He was a member of St. Mary Church in Willimantic. David was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his sisters, Dawn M. and Susan Boker and his life partner Jason T. Blodgett all of Willimantic. David also leaves behind two uncles: James Balcome and his wife Joy of Manchester and Patrick Prue and his wife Lynn as well as cousins Brian and Kevin of Windham. David attended Windham Technical School graduating in Architectural Drafting in 1978; followed by a master’s degree in Interior Design from the Connecticut Institute of Art and Design. He worked for many years for the Windham Community Redevelopment Agency, was also a second-shift supervisor at the Willimantic Cab Co. and served as Director of Volunteers as well as Recreational Director at the Cobalt Lodge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center. David often spoke to local college students regarding neuromuscular disease and how it has impacted his life. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 10/17/08, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
