Obituary for Dolores (Beaulieu) Pudlo
Dolores (Beaulieu) Pudlo passed away peacefully at Douglas Manor Nursing Facility Tuesday evening, Nov. 14, 2017. Dolores was born July 16, 1936 in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of the late Leopold and Clementine Beaulieu. She grew up in the Windham area, eventually meeting her husband, Leo Pudlo. They married on Dec. 26, 1953 and lived in Colorado Springs, CO where Leo was stationed in the service. After he completed his service, they moved to Lebanon, CT where she lived and raised their children. When her children got older, Dolores went from homemaker to working part-time. She held jobs at the deli departments of First National Store, Bergeron’s Market and A&P and also worked at the Lebanon Green Store. She became involved making stained glass ornamental decorations for a company located in Portland, CT, taking pride in all of her creations.She loved music, especially country western and listening to French reels. She played piano and accordion by ear and loved to sing. For many years, she was a member of the “Baltic Country Bumpkins”. This group performed music and skits to benefit the St. Joseph’s School located in Baltic, CT.She spent the past three years living at Douglas Manor enjoying going to music hours, watching her TV, manicures, visits from the dogs and visits with her family. Her family would like to express their most heartfelt thanks to the nurses, aides and staff of Douglas Manor for the care and love you provided her throughout these years and for the amazing support and love for her family during her last days.Dolores was predeceased by her husband Leo, her son Larry and her sister Imelda Bastien. She is survived by her children Ron (Patti) of Browns Mills, NJ; Marc (Liz) Greenfield Center, NY; Luanne (Ryan) Dunstan of Mansfield Center, CT; David of Huntsville, AL. Her grandchildren Jason (Amy) Pudlo of OK; Michael (Sarah)Pudlo and Brian (Sarah)Pudlo of MA; Kevin (Erika)Pudlo of NY; Jennifer (Jim) Schultz of NJ; Lisa (Brian) Barao and Matt Pudlo of Tolland, CT. Six great-grandchildren Abigail, Nathaniel, Rebekah, Sam, Benjamin, Sadie. She is also survived by her brothers Paul Beaulieu (East Hartford, CT), Joseph (Rose) Beaulieu (Willimantic, CT) and Johnny (Vevia) Beaulieu (Clay Center, KS) along with many nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to your favorite charity. Calling hours will be Dec. 6 from 6-8 p.m. at Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect Street, Willimantic, CT. Church service will be at 11:00 am on Dec. 7 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, West Town Street, Lebanon, CT with burial, along with her husband and son, to follow at the New Lebanon Cemetery, Waterman Road, Lebanon, CT.
