Obituary for Dolores I. Beaudette

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Dolores (Mailhot) Beaudette age 102. The angels took her home January 13, 2023 from Windham Memorial Hospital.

Dolores was born in Fitchburg, MA April 12, 1920 to the late Albert and Flora (Begnoche) Mailhot. The family moved to Willimantic when she was seven years old. She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Wilfred Beaudette of Willimantic and her sister Eva Slater of Chaplin.

Dolores worked in several factories before her eventual employment and subsequent retirement from UConn’s dining services at North Campus Dining Hall. Married in 1941, the young couple survived WWII and started a family upon his return. They raised two children and enjoyed many vacations to the Rhode Island shore. After retirement, Dolores was a member of the Jackson Street Seniors and McSweeney Senior Center, playing cards and taking day trips. She especially enjoyed vacations to Myrtle Beach with her daughter and son-in-law.

Dolores had many friendships. Her strong spirit and easy acceptance warmed all her knew her. Besides her children, Dolores had a close relationship with her sister, Elaine Samperi, her granddaughter, Piper Fontaine and her niece Rita Clang.
