Obituary for Donald J. Desrosiers
Donald J. Desrosiers, 70 of Willimantic passed away Sunday January 10, 2021 at his home. He was the son of the late Lucien J. and Dorothy (Maheu) Desrosiers and also brother to the late Robert Desrosiers. Born on May 15, 1950 in Willimantic, he resided in Willimantic at West Park St for the last 10 years. He worked in the Wire/Cable Industry in the early years and went on to be a self-employed carpenter. Donald served his country during the Vietnam war in the USMC, 1969-1973. He received the Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal W/1 Star and the Campaign Medal W/Device. He was also an outstanding O 311-Rifleman and 199.168-Proof Dir Small Arms. He enjoyed working on cars and house refurbishing.
 He is survived by his brother, Lucien J. Desrosiers Jr., his sister-in-law, Judith A. Desrosiers, both of Pawtucket, RI; his 3 daughters, Culleen Filosi of Dawsonville, GA, Heather Thompson of North Brookfield, MA and Crystal Desrosiers of North Windham, CT, he also is survived by 8 grandchildren, many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services and a private Military burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham will be on Friday Jan 22, at 10AM. Due to COVID-Virus there wont be any family gathering after the burial.
