Obituary for Donalda Rail Roth
Donalda (Rail) Roth 100, of Hampton passed away Tuesday January 16, 2018 due to complications of a stroke.
She was born May 30, 1917 in Willimantic to the late Bert and Adelaide (Vertefeuille) Rail. Donalda was predeceased by her husband, Robert Roth and only child, Donald Roth. She spent most of her life in and around Willimantic working at the American Thread Company, Elm Supermarket and McSweeny Senior Center.
Donalda is survived by her grandchildren; Deanne (John) Donahue, Daniel (Angelike) Roth, her great grandchildren; Sean (Carol-Ann) Donahue, Kyle (Michelle) Donahue, Panayiota, Robert and Zoe Roth, her great-great grandchildren, Morgan, Jeremiah and Caleb, and several nieces and nephews.
Donalda was an amazing woman who would tell stories about a time period that many of us only read about in books. She was the person the family would call to ask how this one or that one was related. Her family was the most important thing in the world to her and she will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Grams caregivers at home and to the nurses and staff at Douglas Manor.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 41 Cedar Swamp Rd. Hampton, CT. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
