Obituary for Donat Antonio Lebeau
Donat Antonio Lebeau, 92, of Willimantic, died April 2, 2010 in Douglas Manor. He was born March 31, 1918 in Willimantic, CT the son of Hypolite and Cordelia (Bergeron) Lebeau. He was employed by the University of Connecticut for 35 years as a carpenter and later, building plan supervisor, retiring in 1983. During World War 2, he served with the Army Air Corps’s 5th Air Force, 20th Combat Mapping Squadron in the Pacific. Mr. Lebeau was a communicant of St. Mary Church and had served as a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Family Life Committee. He was an avid woodworker and gardener. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Lillian (Duprat) Lebeau and is survived by four daughters: Paulette Arnold and her husband Richard of Rochester, MA, Janine Masso and her husband James of Willimantic, CT, Elizabeth Humphreys and her husband James of Ambler, PA and Carolyn Lebeau of Willimantic, CT. He also leaves his grandchildren: Gregory Arnold, Michelle Gammel, Jacqueline Mital, Katie Dodd, Andrew Humphreys and Katherine Humphreys; great grandchildren: Meghan and Nicholas Gammel, Rowen and Boden Arnold, Timothy Dodd and Theo Mital and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by four brothers: Leo Lebeau, Oscar Lebeau, Ernest Lebeau and twin brother Wilfred Lebeau.
His family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, 4/6/10, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Wednesday, 4/7/10, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Mary Church for the celebration of his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary Church Repair Fund, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226.
