Obituary for Edward J. Miffitt
Edward J. Miffitt, 90, of Manchester, husband of the late Bebiane (Arton) Miffitt, died February 20, 2010 in Riverside Health Center in East Hartford, CT.
He was born November 12, 1919 in Rockville, CT son of Edward J. and Susan (Zemancik) Miffit.
He had been an Industrial Design Cost Analyst at Hamilton Standard and later, a Technical Consultant for Airline Companies in manufacturing plants. Ed served in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during World War 2. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Gold Star Post 1724 and the Willimantic Elks Lodge 1311.
His survivors include a son, Lawrence Miffitt if Manchester, CT and a daughter, Susan Hutt of East Hartford, CT. He also leaves a sister, Anne Lassater of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 2/25/10, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Mary Church Valley St. Willimantic, CT. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Rd. in Windham, CT. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations, in his memory, may be made to St. Mary Church Repair Fund, 80 Maple Ave. Willimantic, CT 06226.The Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic has charge of arrangements.
