Obituary for Elizabeth K. Adamcik
Elizabeth K. Adamcik, 90, ofWillimantic, widow of John P. Adamcik, died Wednesday at Windham Hospital with family by her side. Elizabeth (Liz) was bom on January 12,1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Nowak. Her survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Mark Mangano ofWillimantic and her brother, Joseph Nowak of Chaplin, CT. She leaves six grandchildren. Lisa Mangano and husband, Rodney Abbot, of Brooklyn, NY; Laurie Witty and husband, Scott, ofLawrenceville, GA; Vincent Mangano and fiancee, Mandi Waldron, ofRockland, Maine; Alan Marchand of Scotland, CT; Brenda Lambert and husband, Keith, of Columbia, CT; and Thomas Marchand and Kim Chapman ofAmston, CT. She also leaves nine great-grandchildren, Sophia, Tess and Isobel Abbot of Brooklyn, NY; Justine, Corrine and Alyssa Lambert of Columbia, CT; Justin, Elise and Hadley Marchand ofAmston, CT; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen, and son-in-law, Andre Marchand; sisters, Jennie Urban, Camilla Tranka, Teofila Kennison and brother, John Connor. The celebration of her funeral mass will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery . There will be no calling hours and assembly will be at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226 or the Covenant Soup Kitchen, 220 Valley St., Willimantic, CT 06226. Bacon Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
