Emelda (Vertefeuille), Rail, 101, of Willimantic, CT, widow of Burt R. Rail, died December 12, 2009 in St. Joseph Living Center in Windham.
She was born August 9, 1908 in St. Claude, P.Q., Canada the daughter of Gregoire and Lucina (Richard) Vertefeuille.
Her survivors include three daughters: Dolores Bandas and her husband Nicholas of Holden, MA, Doris Miller-Hubbard and Janet Wallis and her husband George all off Willimantic, CT; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and a great, great granddaughter. She also leaves a daughter-in-law, Stefania Rail of Willimantic, a sister-in-law, Donalda Roth of Hampton and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond Rail, two grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.
Her family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, 12/16/09, from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Mary Church, Valley St. for the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family sincerely appreciates the exceptional loving care provided their mother by the staff of St. Joseph Living Center and in lieu of flowers, requests that memorial contributions be made to: the End of Life Suite Fund, care of St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd.
