Obituary for Frank A. Bertone
Frank A. Bertone, 90, of Windham, husband of the late Mary (Insalaco) Bertone, died Friday, 12/22/06, in St. Joseph Living Center. He was born Feb. 22, 1916 in Hoboken, NJ the son of Andrew and Rosa (Pizza) Bertone. He was a crane operator for the Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp. retiring in 1976. During World War 2, Frank served with the Army in the Phillipines. He was an active volunteer at the Immaculata Retreat House for many years and a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic. His survivors include a son, Douglas C. Bertone, Sr. and his wife Ruth of North Windham; four daughters: Deborah C. Adams and her husband, Neale of Presque Isle, ME, Rosemary Dunn and her husband, Gordon of Ogden, UT, Concetta Marie Bertone of Waddell, AZ and Carole Bertone of Orlando, FL. He also leaves two brothers, Peter Bertone and Michael Bertone both of New Jersey, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great great children and many nieces, nephews and cousins. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 12/27/06, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic. Burial, with military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Wednesday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
