Obituary for George P. Gauthier
George P. Gauthier, 83, of Windham Center, CT, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at St Joseph’s Living Center. Born on October 24, 1930, he was the son of the late Armand and Rosalie (Brodeur) Gauthier. A lifelong Windham resident, George was a member of the Elks and prior to retirement he owned a successful tire business with operations in Willimantic, Putnam and Webster, MA. George enjoyed golf and fishing and had a special fondness for animals.  He was predeceased by his daughter Jane Pepin. George leaves his wife Barbara, sister Helene Johnson, uncle Paul Brodeur, daughter Nancy Gauthier Sheehan, son-in-law Jack Sheehan, son David Gauthier, daughter-in-law Lori Gauthier, grand-son Kyle Gauthier, and grand-daughter Lydia Pepin. George’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at St. Joseph’s Living Center for the care and compassion shown to him during his time there. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 4/30/14 between 10 AM and 11 AM, with a prayer service following at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Windham. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be sent to the St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
