Obituary for Gerard A. Aubin
Gerard A. Aubin, 94, died February 16, 2009 in St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT. Gerard was a lifelong resident of Willimantic, born on September 29, 1914, the son of Roseanna (Marcil) and Joseph A. Aubin. Gerard was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife, Doris Rowley Aubin. He is survived by four children and their spouses, Gerard and Pamela Aubin of Norwich; Linda and Brian Wagner of Lebanon; David and Carolyn Aubin of Hebron; and Barbara Aubin and John Price of Old Saybrook.  Gerard enjoyed and took special interest and pride in  his grandchildren, Matthew Aubin and his wife Michelle of Worcester, Massachusetts; Jonathan Aubin and his wife Lynn of Hamden; Elisabeth Aubin of New York City; Ashley Wagner of Hebron; and Will, Nicholas, and Parker Aubin of Hebron. During World War II, Gerard served his country as a pharmacist’s mate in the United States Navy on Okinawa. Returning home to Willimantic, he was employed for over 64 years at the J.J. Hickey Drug Company. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Willimantic, and an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies, especially the women’s basketball team, and the Boston Red Sox. Memorial donations made be made to St. Joseph’s Living Center, 14 Club Road, Windham, CT. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, 2/21/09, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Mary Church on Valley St. Willimantic for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Windham Center Cemetery in Windham.
