Obituary for Gloria T. Saucier
WILLIMANTIC – Gloria T. Saucier, 82, of Ives Street, died peacefully at her home on Friday, April 4, 2014.

On February 28, 1932 she was born in Biddeford, Maine, the daughter of the late Fred and Laura (Ethier) Cote.

Gloria grew up in Biddeford where she met her husband Fred Saucier, who had come to Biddeford to work in the local mill.  They were married on Sept. 15, 1951 in Biddeford. After their marriage they moved from Maine and settled in Willimantic. Fred worked in the local mill and Gloria worked as a correlator at the Willimantic Chronicle for a short time. Before long they started their family and Gloria became a stay-at-home mom. A role she cherished. She cared for her family with a gentle, loving nature and was always there when you needed her. Her faith was also an important part of her life and was a parishioner of St. Mary Church for many years. She will be forever loved and greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Jane Thiffeault and husband Michael, Karen Mitchell and husband John, Fred Saucier and wife Deborah and Lance Saucier and wife Cynthia; three grandchildren, John Mitchell, Michael Cote and Jessica Cote; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Fred Saucier on January 4, 2005, and her sister Doris Brochu.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Mary's Church, 46 Valley Street, Willimantic, CT or VNA Hospice, 34 Ledgebrook Dr., Mansfield Center, CT.
