Obituary for Harlan (Bud) W. Harrison
Harlan “Bud” W. Harrison, of Stafford, formerly of Hanover, beloved husband of Doris (Champagne) Harrison, died September 12, 2013 in St. Joseph Living Center, Windham CT. He was born April 12, 1920 in Hanover, CT son of Harlan and Gertrude (Hines) Harrison. During World War 2, He served with the Army in Europe. Bud was a truck driver for the Hartford Dispatch & Warehouse Co. for over 30 years where he also served as a shop steward for the Teamsters Union. He was a founding member of the Cha-Wi-Ma Corp. and enjoyed watching the Red Sox and UCONN women’s basketball teams. His survivors include six children: Harlan W. Harrison, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Norwich, JoAnn Thompson and her husband Jim of Windham, Ron Harrison and his wife Cynthia of Covington, GA, Brian Harrison and his wife Lisa of Norwich, Steven Harrison and his wife Ruth of Stafford Springs and Cindy Carpenter and her husband Paul of Hanover. He also leaves numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Richard Harrison. His family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, 9/17/13, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Wednesday, 9/18/13, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
