Obituary for Harry E. MacWay, Jr.
Harry E. MacWay, Jr., 66, of Chaplin, beloved husband of Donna (Shepaum) MacWay, died April 11, 2017 in Windham Hospital. He was born October 12, 1950 in Windham, CT son of the late Harry E. and Margaret (Warinsky), Sr. Harry retired from General Cable after 28 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and member of the American Legion James J. Post 19. Harry loved the outdoors, camping, hunting, gardening and his chickens. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandkids. Besides his wife his survivors include two sons: Brian MacWay and partner Sharon Schweitzer and Eric MacWay and his wife Maura; two daughters: Jodi MacWay and partner Chad Lariviere and Jami Young and her husband Vincent. He also leaves eight grandchildren: Donovan McCall, Matthew MacWay, Alexis LeTourneau, Samantha Tilley, Jennifer Tilley, Vincent Young, Evelyn MacWay, and Amelia MacWay. Also surviving are seven step grandchildren and one step great grandson. The family will receive relatives and friends Saturday, 4/22/17, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd. Warrenville (Ashford), CT. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. followed by military honors in church. Burial will be private.
