Obituary for Helen Bacon Riordan
Helen (Bacon) Riordan, 85, of Willimantic, widow of Charles R. Riordan, died Friday, 5/12/06, in Windham Hospital. She was born October 29, 1920 in Willimantic the daughter of Arsene and Maria (Theroux) Bacon. She had been an executive secretary for Chandler Evans, Inc. of West Hartford for 10 years, retiring 20 years ago. Previously, she was an executive secretary for the Brand Rex Co. in Willimantic. Mrs. Riordan was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Her survivors include a son, Richard Arnold of Marion, MA, a daughter, Barbara Arnold of Willimantic; three stepsons: Charles and William Riordan of Mass. And Jeffrey Riordan of Rocky Hill. She also leaves two brothers: Delphis A. Bacon of West Hartford and William R. Bacon of Windham; three sisters: Theresa Bock and Irene Zimmerman of Willimantic and Rita Mallon of Mansfield Center. Also surviving are five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 5/16/06, at 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Tuesday, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
