Obituary for J. M. Raymond Martineau
J.M. Raymond Martineau, 84, Died Monday November 18th, 2013 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Storrs , CT with family members by his side. He was the son of the late Joseph Aime Alphonse Martineau and Adelina Daigle Martineau from Black Lake Canada. He is the husband of the late Sarah (Pellitier) Martineau of Willimantic. He is the brother of the late Albert Martineau, Eva (Martineau) Dubois, Laura (Martineau) Belisle, Yvonne (Martineau) Tessier, Alice Martineau, Dorea (Martineau) Fontaine, Emilliana Martineau, Jeanne (Martineau) Nemeth, and Rosairio Martineau all from Willimantic. He is survived by one sister Lillian (Martineau) Watrous of Manchester. He is also survived by a son Wayne Martineau and his wife Enes (Goiangos) Martineau of Lebanon, and two grandchildren Lindsay Martineau of Columbia and James Martineau of Lebanon. Raymond served in the United States Navy during the Korean War as a radioman to the Captain. He is also retired experimental sheet metal worker from Pratt & Whitney with over 25 years of service. Ray was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council & Assembly. Not only was Raymond a loving husband, father, and Grandfather, but he was an accomplished finish carpenter which he did as a hobby. His family will receive relatives and friends at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic Thursday, 11/21/2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Friday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary’s Church Repair Fund or Immaculata Retreat House on rte. 32 in Willimantic.
