Obituary for James Edward Doucette, Sr.
James E. Doucette, Sr. 83, of North Windham, CT, beloved husband of Edith (Miner) Doucette, died November 11, 2013 in St. Joseph Living Center. He was born September 15, 1930 in Medford, MA the son of Joseph Oliver and Mary (DeVeau) Doucette. Jim worked for many years for the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Division, retiring several years ago. During the Korean War, he served in the Air Force in Spokane, Washington, where he met and married Edith. He was a member of the KWAI #1of Connecticut. Besides his wife he leaves a son, James Edward Doucette, Jr. and his wife Susan (Franck) Doucette and their children, James E. Doucette, III and Stephanie Doucette; a son, Eugene Quentin Doucette and his children, Camille Doucette and Jacqueline Doucette and Jim’s great granddaughter, Lillian Olivia Harris. He also leaves two sisters, Beatrice Yankowski, Bernice Lynch and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Doucette and four sisters: Theresa Smeltzer, Agnes Monagle, Marguerite Hanson and Celeste Lussier. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, 11/18/13, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
