Obituary for Jean Cleveland
Jean Marie Cleveland passed, in her sleep, into Heaven and the loving arms of her parents, William Francis and Catherine Mary Costello on January 17, 2022. Jean was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts on September 9, 1949 and grew up in Willimantic, where she attended St. Joseph’s school and Windham High School, where she was a proud member of the Whippet Majorettes. She also attended Eastern Connecticut State College, earning a BA degree In Education that led her to the Education profession.
Jean is survived by her loving and attentive husband John Cleveland, her children, Sarah and Ethan Taylor, and by her four brothers, John (Dana Point, CA), William (Naples, FL), Lawrence (Peachtree City, GA, and Robert (Huntsville, AL). Other surviving family include 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Jean was a delightful person whose great personality, keen sense of humor and affectionate ways will be sorely missed by her husband, her family, and her many friends. May she rest in peace and in the presence of our Lord.
Jean was a devout Catholic and will be interred in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Windham at a service to be conducted at 10:30AM on Thursday, January 27th. A funeral mass and memorial service will be conducted at St. Joseph’s Church in early spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Salvation Army of Willimantic 316 Pleasant St, Willimantic, CT. 06226. To send an online expression of sympathy, please visit www.baconfh.com
