Joseph P. Nowak / Chaplin CT and Englewood Fl.
Joseph P. Nowak, husband of the late Elise (Desilets) passed away Friday April 27, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Living Center from complications of Parkinson’s disease. He was 90.
 Born July 31, 1921 in Willimantic CT to Joseph F Nowak and Mary Nowak- Connor,  He was educated at St Joseph School and Windham High School. He worked as a plumber, millwright and jack of all trades.
 He proudly served in the U. S. Marine Corp. during World War II.  Joseph saw action in the Marshall Islands and the Mariana Islands. He was wounded in the capture of Saipan.
He married the love of his life, Elise Desilets on July 27, 1946 in Willimantic CT
Joseph is survived by his 3 daughters Nancy (Bill) Bradley of Eastford CT, Joyce (Rick) Shea of Englewood FL and Karen Nowak ( Timothy Shea) of Absarokee MT. He is also survived by 3 grandsons Keith Shea and his wife Natalia, Kris Shea and his partner Greg Membreno, and Willie Bradley, 3 great grandchildren Abby, Vance (his little buddy) & Emme Shea, many much loved nieces and nephews including Janet & Robert Urban.
He was predeceased by his wife Elise, son Joseph Jr., 4 sisters, Jennie Urban, Elizabeth Adamcik, Teofila Kennison, Camilla Tranka, and one brother John Connor.
 His family is very thankful for the loving care he received at St. Joe's.  He made many friends there.  And we will always be grateful to the amazing staff who truly cared, the many volunteers and in last moments the "sitters."
  Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph's Living Center, 14 Club Road, Windham, CT  06280 for the care of the garden, the recreation program or the new end of life unit.
He held very deeply his commitment to God, his marriage, his family, and his country. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 5/2/12, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic, CT. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd.
