Obituary for Josephine J. Mangano
On Saturday, December 28th, 2019, Josephine J. Mangano, 94, passed peacefully into the loving arms of Our Lord. Josephine resided at St. Josephs Living Center where she was surrounded by many who loved her. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph L. Mangano and the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maryangela (Crispino) Ferrigno.

She was born on May 13th, 1925 in Willimantic. Later her family moved to Hartford where she lived till she was married. While living in Hartford she was proud to tell you the stories of her life. She was so proud of being an Air Raid Warden during the war. While living in Hartford, Mom worked at Loren Studios where she did retouching on photos. After moving to Willimantic she started work at the Electric Motive until their closing and then to Kendal Company till they moved South. Mom loved bowling, scratch tickets, Mohegan Sun and Bingo, which she played every Monday at the Center. She absolutely loved the UCONN Girls Basketball Team and of course Gino. She loved telling you the story of Gino, as if he was a personal friend. She didn’t like to miss a game.

She is survived by her daughter Ann-Marie DeMarchi and her husband Jack; her son Joseph and his wife Kathy. She also leaves behind her grandchildren Brett (Kelly), Kim (Shawn), John, Jared (Ashton), Thomas (Shevon), Melanie (Greg) and Jessica; and her great-grandchildren Rebecca, Lindsey, Joseph, Nicholas and Megan, all who loved her dearly. Mom was predeceased by her eldest son Thomas and her great-grandson Sage Bristol.

At her request, services will be private and at the convenience of the family. If you would like to donate to a charity in her name, Moms favorite charities were St. Jude (St. Jude.org) and Wounded Warriors (support.woundedwarriorproject.org).

At this time we would especially like to thank everyone at St. Joseph's Living Center for the wonderful care, support and above all, the love that was shown to Mom while she lived there. We cannot thank-you enough.
