Obituary for Katherine M. (Harold) Lariviere
Katherine “Kay” Marie (Harold) Lariviere, beloved mother, 90, of Willimantic, passed away February 25, 2016, in Windham Hospital.  She was born June 3, 1925, in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of William J. Harold and Bridget (Shea) Harold. Kay was a lifelong resident of Willimantic, a communicant of St. Joseph Church, a member of St. Joseph Women’s Club, the CSEA and a charter member of the Irish Club of Willimantic. She worked for many years as a state employee, retiring in 1988 from the J. Eugene Smith Library at ECSU. Kay loved her church, her family, her many dear friends and being Irish. She is survived by her beloved family, including her five children:  Jean and David Bartlett of Stafford Springs, CT, Joan and Douglas McDonald of Napanee, ON, Paul Lariviere and Joy Viens of Willimantic, Mary Kay and Michael Cussen of Chaplin, CT, and Mark and Naomi Lariviere of Merrimack, NH. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving are her beloved sister Julia H. Barbero of Webster, MA, her sister-in-law Josephine Harold of Willimantic and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother William Harold. Her family will receive family and friends on Thursday 3/3/16 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St., Willimantic, followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church, Jackson St., Willimantic for the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 12 Noon. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd., Windham. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT 06226.
