Obituary for Leo F. Delude
Leo F. Delude, 89, of Windham, died October 26, 2013 in St. Joseph Living Center. He was born to Paul & Victoria Delude on August 4, 1924 in the Province of Quebec, Canada where he grew up on a farm. Leo met and married his beloved wife Adrienne (Lizee) Delude in 1944. In Quebec, he worked as a lumberjack, later a trucker collecting milk from farms throughout the province. Immigrating to the U.S., he settled in Willimantic and eventually raised his family in Hampton. Leo first worked at the American Thread Co., later poultry farms, Gauthier Tire and finally in housekeeping at Windham Hospital where he made the floors shine like glass. His survivors include a son Mark and his wife Pat, a daughter Joanne Graham and her husband Jon; grandchildren: Erin, Matthew, Christopher and Hilary. He also leaves his brothers: Albert, Omar and Gils; sisters: Sister Clara, Gilberte, Pauline and Therese and several nieces, nephews and a special friend Hazel. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by an infant daughter Kathy and brothers: Paul Henri, Rock, Rosaire and Gerard. His family will receive relatives and friends Friday, 11/1/13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. His Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 11/2/13, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
