Obituary for Lewis William Ives, II
Lewis William Ives II, 70, of Eastford, formerly of Willimantic, beloved husband of Elaine (Fafard) Ives, died October 6, 2012 in Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, CT. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Marie and Jennifer; a son, Lewis; grandson, Josef; brothers, Truman and Robert; son-in-law, Matthew and family friend, Danny. Lewis is now joining in eternal peace his parents, Blanche and Truman; brother, George, sister, Irene; godparents, Gilda and George and countless family and friends. First and foremost, Lewis was a husband and father. Elaine, his wife, was the love of his life, and to his children, he was loving, supportive and always there. He earned his Master’s Degree at Eastern Connecticut State University. Lewis was the owner and innovator of Ives Brothers Ice and Oil. He served his country both in the U. S. Air Force and by performing many civic duties in his community. Lewis was also a teacher in the Montville Public School system. He is greatly loved and will be deeply missed. His family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, 10/11/12, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Friday from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic for the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
