Obituary for Lidija Elvira (Berza) Ezis
Lidija Elvira (Berza) Ezis, 94, of Willimantic, widow of Ernests Ezis, died January 3, 2012 in Windham Hospital. She was born in Liepaja, Latvia on June 30, 1917. In 1950, Lidija and her family immigrated to America. She was a member of the Latvian Ev. Lutheran Church. Lidija was employed by the Electro-Motive Co., later by the University of CT and finally by SEMCO. She is survived by her son, Arnis and his wife Shirley; her granddaughters: LeeAnn, Adrienne and Amy; grandson, Ernest and several great grandchildren. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Olga, with whom she made her home. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Andris “Andy”, infant son Ivers and grandson Aaron. Her family will receive friends Saturday, 1/7/12, from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. Burial will follow in the New Willimantic Cemetery, Rte. 32 Willimantic. Memorial Donations may be made to either the Latvian Ev. Lutheran Church, 76 Windham Rd. Willimantic, CT 06226 or the Douglas Manor Recreation Fund, 103 North Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
