Obituary for Lillian M. LaBrie
Lillian M. LaBrie passed away on January 28, 2013 in Windham Hospital. She was born April 15, 1934 the daughter of Leon D. and Clarisse (Boutin) LaBrie. She was a lifelong resident of Willimantic, graduating from St. Mary Grammer School and a graduate of the Windham High School Class of 1952. In her working career she was employed at the Willimantic Savings & Loan, the Liberty Bank and the Brooklyn Correctional Center in the Financial Dept. from which she retired. Lillian was a communicant of St. Mary Church. In her earlier years she was an avid volunteer at the Immaculata Retreat House, a member of St. Mary Choir, a bingo worker at St. Mary Parish Bingo, and worked as a computer operator inputting the Sunday collections. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister Doris Meraty, two brothers-in-law, James C. Meraty and Edward J. Luond, a niece, Nancy M. Meraty, a nephew Mark E. Luond and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her sister Lorraine Luond of Willimantic; two nieces, Marilyn M. Meraty and Lisa M. Dudley and her husband Ron; two nephews, Robert F. Luond and John M. Luond and his wife Deborah and a grand niece Elizabeth A. Luond. She is also survived by cousins in New Hampshire, South Carolina and North Carolina. Her family will receive relatives and friends Friday, 2/1/2013, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Mary Church, Valley St. Willimantic for the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd.
