Obituary for Lionel J. Provencher
Lionel J. Provencher, 94 of Storrs, formerly of Willimantic husband of the late Mary (Ponska) Provencher passed away Sunday August 1, 2021 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.
He was born May 4, 1927 in Willimantic, CT son of the late Donat and Alice (Hould) Provencher. Â He lived in Willimantic for most of his life, attended St.Marys School and worked as a machine operator at American Thread. He was also a member of St. Mary Church in Willimantic.
 He is survived by his siblings, Rolanda Schlehofer of Willimantic, Raymond Provencher of Manchester, Joseph Provencher of North Windham and Rita Guay of Harker Heights, TX and also 4 nieces and 4 nephews. The Provencher family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation for their care and support given to Lionel.Â
Friends may gather on Thursday Aug 5, from 9 to 10AM at Bacon Funeral Home 71 Prospect St, Willimantic followed by burial at St. Joseph Cemetery Club Rd, Windham at 10:30AM.
