Obituary for Louis P. Koval
Louis Koval, 86, of Windham, beloved husband of Mauricette (L’Herbier) Koval, died Friday, June 2, 2006, in Hartford Hospital. He was born Dec. 15, 1919 the son of Paul and Constance (Chmura) Koval. A lifelong resident of Windham, he was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford for many years. Louis was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the VFW Gold Star Post 1724, the Willimantic Elks Lodge 1311 and a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He enjoyed gardening and shopping. In addition to his wife, his survivors include his daughter & son-in-law, Joyce & Robert Nye of North Windham, two grandsons & their wives, Robert & Kathleen Nye and Cheyne & Jesica Nye all of North Windham. He also leaves four great grandchildren: Jared, Jacob, Jordan, and Morgan all of North Windham. He was predeceased by four brothers and a sister: John, Victor, Maxey and Walter Nye and Sophia Gazda.His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 6/8/06, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church in Willimantic. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
