Obituary for Madeline C. (Broder) Manning
Madeline C. (Broder) Manning, of Mansfield Center, beloved wife of Eugene M. Manning, died September 19, 2013 in Mansfield Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation. She was born March 22, 1936 in New Rochelle, NY the daughter of Thomas and Loretta (Maxcy) Broder. She was a buyer for Asiatic Petroleum for many years. Madeline was a member of the Irish Club of Willimantic, St. Joseph’s Women’s Club and the Mansfield Senior Center. She loved animals and bowling and was an avid gardener and traveler. She had also volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Michigan as well as Connecticut. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons: Malachy Manning of Los Angeles, CA and Martin Manning of Austin, TX; a sister, Martha Broder-Allard of Mansfield Center; two brothers: Francis Broder of Windham and Charles Broder of Bronxville, NY. Madeline was predeceased by a brother, Thomas Broder and two sisters: Loretta Spelman and Mary Demac. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 9/24/13, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. The family will receive relatives and friends Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
