Obituary for Marguerite (Young) Johnston Jaros
Marguerite (Young) Johnston Jaros, 93, of Willimantic passed away peacefully on April 25,2014, at Mansfield Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Marge was born on November 8, 1920 to the late Blanche & Stephen Young. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph W. Jaros of Storrs. She is survived by her loving children Edward S. Johnston and his wife Deborah of Hobe Sound, Steve Johnston of Boca Raton, Janice Falluco of Waterford. She was predeceased by her daughters Sharon Vernon and Patricia Harrison. She is also survived by her sister Jeanette Volle and husband Edward Volle of Hobe Sound, her Aunt Cecile Nadeau of Willimantic and grandchildren Laurie, Leslie, Luis, Jennifer, Joleen, Scott, Shawn, Todd, Jimmy and Kim and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Edward J. Johnston. Marge was a life time resident of Willimantic, she worked at Tubridy’s for years. She was a longtime member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Many will remember her beautiful smile and eye for fashion as she always looked so stunning. She was of strong faith and was a devoted member of St Mary’s Church in Willimantic. Her culinary skills would always amaze everyone and luckily she was happy to share her many delicious recipes and pass on her talents in the kitchen. She loved Cape Cod, The Lake, traveling with Sharon, holidays, family gatherings, and dancing. She devoted her life to helping others and always put the needs of everyone else first. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends especially her son- in-law Bruce Rosenthal with whom she lived with for a short time, and granddaughter’s Laurie and Leslie whom took extra special care in her time of need and great granddaughter Cassie who spent so much time with her. She will be missed dearly by all of her loved ones! Her family will receive relatives and friends Wednesday, 4/30/14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 5/1/14, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Eastern Ct, 34 Ledgebrook Drive, Mansfield Center, CT 06250.
