Obituary for Marilyn A. Inzinga
Marilyn Amelia (Ives) Inzinga, age 92, wife for 67 years of the late Salvatore Inzinga, passed away Friday Oct 23, 2020 in Mansfield, CT. She was the daughter of the late Roger and Maude (Millett) Ives. She was predeceased by an infant daughter Nancy Ann, a brother Roger, and sister Shirley. Born on December 12, 1927, in Norwalk, CT. Following the death of her father in 1938, her mother having died in 1931, Marilyn lived with her grandmother Eustachia Millett, in Tewksbury, MA.
Marilyn lived an incredible life of love and service to others. Early in her life, she worked as a Registered Nurse at the Floating Hospital for Children in Boston Harbor. She then lived and contributed to the community of Willimantic for most of her life. She served as a registered nurse at Windham hospital, then as the factory nurse for ElectroMotive and the American Thread Mill, until the two closed. Marilyn was a member of the First Congregational Church, singing in the choir, and very active in the Mother’s Club. Marilyn was also an avid gardener and craftswoman. Incredibly skilled with most hobbies with her hands, she found great joy in knitting, sewing, crocheting, and making intricate gifts for others.
Traveling together with her husband in her RV and making friends in all 50 states brought her incredible joy. Along the way, they enjoyed working with Habitat for Humanity all over the country.
She is survived by Janet of Richmond Hill, GA, their son Benedict of Milford, CT, a sister Estelle (Robert) Stetson of Boston, MA, and her grandchildren, Neil Miller of Mesa, AZ, Lisabette (Miller) and Kyle Stilwell of Richmond Hill, GA, Zachary and Chelcie Miller of Kila, MT, Warren and Melissa Inzinga of Middletown, CT, Ryan Inzinga of Branford, CT; and 9 great grandchildren.
