Obituary for Mary Agnes Hanson

Mary Agnes (Pizzo) Hanson, 90, of North Windham, beloved wife of the late Arthur Hanson, passed away peacefully, Friday, 2/23/07, in Windham Hospital. She was born Nov. 24, 1916 in Jewett City, CT the daughter of Edward and Catherine (Zawalinski) Pizzo. She had been employed by the Roselin Mfg. Co. from 1941 to 1981. She was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Willimantic. Mary liked to make puzzles, do word scrambles and, in her later years, watch classics on TV. Most of all, she loved her family and being with them. She was a kind, caring and gentle woman and will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Her survivors include two loving sisters: Sister Helen Pyzocha of the Daughters of the Holy Spirit Provincial House in Putnam, CT and Elizabeth Dyl of Pawtucket, RI; sisters-in-law: Gladys Pizzo, Evelyn Pizzo and Sophie Pizzo; nephew, Richard and his wife, Gayla, grandniece, Melissa and Timothy Jonasch, great-grandniece, Bryanna Walters and most recently, great- grandnephew, Caydan Jonasch. She also leaves her caregivers, who loved her very much, niece and nephew, Jennie and Robert Ouellette, grandnieces, Jody and Wendy Ouellette and Timothy Noble as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters: Josephine Glynn, Amelia Cholewa and Theresa Provencher, also four brothers: John, Walter, Richard and Frank Pizzo. Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 2, 2007 at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church on Jackson St. in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery on Club Rd. in Windham. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either St. Joseph’s Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226 or St. Joseph Living Center, 14 Club Rd. Windham, CT 06280.
