Obituary for Mary Elizabeth (Moran) Marrotte
Mary Elizabeth (Moran) Marrotte , formerly  of 92 Quercus Avenue Willimantic and widow of Gerald N. Marrotte  went to heaven on November 4, 2008 as a resident of the Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.   Born February 9, 1917 of parents Michael and Margaret ( Conway) Moran. Pre-deceased by brothers James Moran, Edward Moran and Joseph Moran; sisters Margaret (Moran) Smith and Doris (Moran) Marrotte.Survived by sons Christopher P. Ivan-Marrotte and his wife Murielle of Hampton, Thomas J. Marrotte and his wife Ellen of North Windham, and Daniel J. Marrotte of  Hampton ; as well as many nieces and nephews. She worked for a time as a secretary at the University of Connecticut before settling down to raise a family; she spent the last  54   years of her life as a devoted mother and friend to her special-needs son Daniel.   She liked watching the Lawrence Welk Show and soap operas and as a dyed-in-the-wool Red Sox fan was thankful they won the World Series in her lifetime. Her smile lit up a room; yet she was happiest when doing things for other people.   Her family will receive friends on Thursday, November 6, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. and again Friday, from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT followed by a procession to St. Joseph Church on Jackson St. in Willimantic for the celebration of her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations, in Liz's memory, be made to St. Joseph Church's Renovation Fund, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
