Obituary for Mary Kulmatycky
Mary Kulmatycky, 80, of Willimantic, CT peacefully departed this life, surrounded in the comfort and love of her family, on March 18, 2006, in St. Joseph Living Center, after a brief Illness. Mary was born in Ukraine on December 25, 1925. She married during World War II and immigrated to the United States with her husband, John, in 1949.They were married for fifty years before his death in 1996. In Willimantic, Mary and John Kulmatycky were active in the growth of the Ukrainian Community and Church. Mary was employed by the American Thread Co. until it closed in 1988. Mary is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Myra L. Berman, her son-in-law, Atty. Jon D. Berman and her grand-daughter, Jessica Mary Berman, all of South Windsor, CT. Mary loved her family and home. She especially enjoyed the peace of working in her gardens. A Panakhyda Service will be held Wednesday, 3/22/06, at 9:30 am in the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by a procession to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church on 69 Oak St. for the Celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 10 am. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday, from 6 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home, with a Panakhyda Service at 7 pm. The family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff of St. Joseph Living Center. Donations, in Mary’s name, may be made to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 61 Oak St. Willimantic.
