Obituary for Matthew Miela
Matthew Miela, a lifelong resident of Willimantic, died January 24, 2010 in Douglas Manor in Windham, CT.
He was born August 21, 1911 one of six children to Julia (Gruszka) and Joseph Miela. Matthew retired from the American Thread Co. as a Master Dyer. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a lifetime member of the American Legion James J. Shea Post 19.
His survivors include a nephew Stanley Miela and his wife Beverly; great nieces and nephew: Carolyn Miela, Patricia Miela and her husband Walt and Mark Miela and his wife Anne. He also leaves great, great nieces and nephews: Melanie, Britny, Lynzy, Joshua, Daniel and Ryan Frances and a sister-in-law, Gertrude Miela.
His Graveside Service in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham will be private. There are no calling hours.
