Obituary for Matthew S. Dusza
Matthew S. Dusza, 93, of Willimantic, died January 23, 2016 in St. Joseph Living Center, Windham, CT. He was born in Lowell, MA the son of Michael and Kunegunda Dusza. He came to Willimantic as a young child and attended local schools. Matthew was a graduate of Windham High School’s Class of 1941 and was a member of the basketball team that was undefeated and won the Class A state championship. He was named to the “All New England Team” for his outstanding play in that tournament. He was a graduate of Becker Jr. College in Worcester, MA and was an Army veteran of World War 2, serving in the Pacific. Matthew retired from the Windham Water Dept. after many years of service. He was a member of the Pulaski American Citizens Club, the American Legion and a communicant of St. Joseph Church. He is survived by his brother John J. Dusza of Willimantic and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Visitation will be Thursday, 1/28/2016, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic followed by the celebration of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial contribution to St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
