Obituary for Michael Edward Trudeau
Michael E. Trudeau, 58, of Willimantic, went home to his beloved Lord on Saturday, April 13. He was born in Willimantic on December 16, 1954, the son of the late Roland and Rose Trudeau of Mansfield.
In his youth, Mick was an outstanding athlete. He received numerous awards in football and baseball while attending Windham Regional Vocational Technical School and he continued playing both sports throughout his college years. He graduated from Southern CT State University with a bachelor’s degree in physical education. He also enjoyed playing baseball on the Willimantic Twilight League.Â
Mick was our hero. He courageously dealt with his ongoing battle with schizophrenia until his heart rending tragic death. His voices are finally quiet now and we know that his strong faith in God has brought him to his heavenly reward. He was a gentle and caring man with a wonderful sense of humor and a very loving persona. His family and friends will always hold warm memories of him close in their hearts.Â
Michael leaves behind his loving wife, Rani (Sikand), three sisters, Janet and (Paul) Generous and Sandra and (Dennis) Bailey of Mansfield, and Patricia Baxter of Norwich, as well as nephews and nieces and many loving extended family members.
There are no calling hours and funeral arrangements are private. Memorial donations may be made to your local mental health chapter, to St. Mary Church Repair Fund, 80 Maple Avenue, Willimantic or to the donor’s choice.
