Obituary for Michael Thomas Tabor, Jr.
Michael Thomas Tabor Jr. passed away at the young age of 47 on September 19, 2015. Michael’s survivors are his wife, Carrie ( Fish) Tabor, son Zachary Tabor, Mother Stephanie (Shirshac) Iazzetta, father Mike Tabor Sr., and wife Carol Tabor and sister Amy Tabor and niece, Mykaela Tabor-Gyhra. Michael is also survived by in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nieces and nephews. Michael is also loved by many wonderful friends who have hunted and fished with him. His friends attended St. Mary’s School and are friends still to this very day. Michael has many other friends who were very blessed to have met such a wonderful guy. Michael was best known for his love, strength, kindness, courage, and warmth. He was an awesome fisherman, hunter and a skilled woodworker. He has many talents. As much as Michael enjoyed hunting, he had such a heart for all animals. He would even stop in the middle of the road to save a turtle crossing and bring it to the other side. A friend of his had a hummingbird trapped in his house and he called Michael over and he actually caught it with his hands and put it outside. His love of life and nature were very strong. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for anyone. He has taught his son and wife how to fish, when hiking, to look out for certain markers so we would never get lost. He was a resourceful person and dedicated his time with Cub Scouts helping out with tools and projects, hikes and reading a compass. His passion was really fishing and hunting and he truly believed in strong relationships, honesty and to respect one another. Michael has taught his son to be the best he can be. We are all very blessed to have the wonderful years we have had with Michael. May those memories continue to live on and may his soul rest in peace. His family will receive relatives and friends Thursday, 9/24/15, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, 9/25/15, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Zachary Thomas Tabor Education Fund. Checks may be made payable to Ameriprise Financial and mailed to Ameriprise at 180 Glastonbury Boulevard, Suite 105, Glastonbury, CT 06033.
