Obituary for Muriel A. (Brodeur) Gould
Muriel Adrienne (Brodeur) Gould, 86, passed away on February 6, 2014, in
Storrs, Ct. surrounded by her loving family. She was born in New Bedford
Mass. on September 29, 1927, to Louis and Roseanne (Landry) Brodeur.  She
was married to Edmond Gould on February 7, 1948 in New Bedford, later
moving to Willimantic in 1952. She  worked at the UConn Bookstore, American
Thread Co., and The Electro Motive Co.  Muriel loved hosting the "Circle"
kids back in the day. Many opened their homes, but she was special to so
many of those kids. Whether they were eating, or swimming in the backyard
pool, Mom always made them feel welcome.  Her pastimes included playing
cribbage, and having the neighborhood ladies for tea and talk. Her love of
cooking was passed on to her sons who became professional chefs.  Her
beloved husband Edmond predeceased her in 2005.  She leaves a daughter
Nancy, of North Windham, and three sons; Russell of Kona Hawaii, David and
wife Tina of Columbia, and Michael and wife Mari, of  Storrs.  Her
grandchildren will miss their Gramma Gould, and include; Kyle Gould and wife
Amanda of Willimantic, Jamie (Gould) Burke and her wife Melanie of Tampa,
Adam Gould of Willimantic, Megan, and husband Seechanh, Jayden, and Taylor.
Her three great grandchildren are Julien, Amaya, and Kaira. She was
predeceased by two brothers, Albert and Louis Brodeur. Her family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday, 2/11/14, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, 2/12/14, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Jackson St. Willimantic. Burial will be at the convenience of the Family.
