Obituary for Nancy H. Bradley
Mansfield Center - Nancy Hartman Bradley, 73, loving wife, sister, and friend passed away Tuesday, July 19, close to the Thames River she cherished.

Born in New London to Dr. Frederick B. and Isabell Hartman, Nancy was known to family and friends as a lover of animals, large and small. She graduated from The Williams School in New London, and attended the University of Connecticut, where she majored in economics.

After working as assistant manager at the CBT branch in Storrs for many years, Liberty Bank, and the Mansfield Board of Education, she left the world of finance, and on May 22,1985, Nancy married the love of her life. Together they spent thirty-seven wonderful years on a beautiful farm in Mansfield. Nancy kept a flock of sheep that she adored and cared for lovingly. Later, her love for cats prompted her to start a boarding kennel just for cats; she named it the "Cheshire Cat Inn." For many years she welcomed feline visitors to her kennel. There, she provided a safe, secure and loving environment for her guests, while their owners were away. The kennel was Nancy's greatest accomplishment and she poured her heart and soul into making it the best that it could be. Everyone who knew Nancy realized that she was a kind and compassionate person. Her unique qualities made her a delight to be around . . . she will be sorely missed.

Nancy is survived by her husband; and her brothers, Frederick (Imelda) and John Hartman.

An avid reader of E. B. White, she modeled her life after that of "Charlotte" living a humble life caring for others, valuing above all, loyalty and friendship.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
