Obituary for Nikola Dancuk
Nikola Dancuk, 82. of Willimantic, beloved husband for 63 years of Sofija Dancuk, died October 5, 2011 the Mansfield Center for Nursing. He was born November 28, 1928 in Lisija, Bosnia the son of Petro and Olexandra Dancuk.To provide a better life for his family, he sold the family farm and all his belongings and immigrated to the United States in 1967. Nikola was employed by the American Thread Co. until it closed and then the UConn Coop until his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Ukrainian National Home. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters: Vera Maddux and her husband James of Windham, Nada Wasynczuk and her husband Stephen of Willington, and Lupka McBride and her husband Robert of Windham. He also leaves seven grandchildren: Slauka Bobrek, Tanya Becotte and her husband Brian of Griswold, Nickolis Wasynczuk and his wife Kristen of Manchester, Alicia Wasynczuk of Willington, Stephania, Justin and Devan McBride of Willimantic. Also surviving are four great grandchildren: Spencer and Alexander Beaudreault of Willimantic and Brianna and Natalie Becotte of Griswold. The family will receive friends Friday, 10/7/11, from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Panaheda Service at 7 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic, CT. A Panaheda Service will be held Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Procession to St. Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Oak St. for the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
